    Grassfight

  • Grassfight : Grassfight's music features a tension and complexity that's at one moment a dark, urgent wall of sound, and in the next, lingering and atmospheric. Having assembled in Denton, Texas, the three-piece set out to contest the settled collective. After a move from Denton to NYC, Grassfight released its Icon EP in fall 2011 to buzz in the blogosphere and embraces from local media. Both EPs were recorded together at various studios in New York and Denton and, for the band, the recordings broke down into two seasonal groups. The fall release features a track listing that feels aggressive and more temperamental, where the second mirrors the longer and more amused days of summer.

TROUBLEMAKERS :  TROUBLEMAKERS formed in April of 2011 after its members, Vanessa Haroutunian and Lauren Schaeffer met at a local bar. They sounded tight from their first jam session which took place in an empty apartment. That August they recorded their first EP, Louder All The Time, recorded by Sam Buck Rosen. "Jagged stormy guitars, a voice with the fire and fury of a Molotov cocktail, and the deadly focused rhythm of an explosive drummer may make Troublemakers just seem like, well, Trouble with a capital "t", but the steely intelligence of their lyrics sets them apart from the host of shout punk rock bands"(Kia Sleet Music Blog). TROUBLEMAKERS write their own songs while drawing from influences such as Joan Jett, Ramones, and Sleater-Kinney.

Captain Baby: Captain Baby is the primary vehicle for wanderlust enthusiasts Adam Sobolew and Asher Rogers. Currently residing in San Francisco, Captain Baby has a full length set to release in June and just finished a lengthy European tour opening for Danny Glovers' son's band, "Party Boys".
