Del Water Gap: DEL WATER GAP was born in the fall of 2011 as the creative manifestation of upstate New York’s S. HOLDEN JAFFE, a self-proclaimed “song and dance man.” AFTER SELF-PRODUCING THE DEL WATER GAP EP in a gentrified storage closet during the spring of 2012, Jaffe relocated to New York City’s East Village where, thanks to a week in Hurricane Sandy’s blacked out Lower Manhattan, he joined forces with bassist WILLIAM EVANS and drummer CHARLES SCHLINKERT to form the project’s live incarnation. Evans, a true corn-fed Kansas boy, has a background in bass guitar and vocal performance with a concentration in opera. Schlinkert, hailing from just north of New York City, studied jazz drums and vibraphone before throwing away the brushes to concentrate on the more even-tempered musings of an alt folk trio. The group currently lives and works out of Alphabet City, making a regular pilgrimage upstate to write and record in their man-cave studio.
The Balboans:

the balboans were born from the noodlings of singer Loam Disher and songwriter Robb Bruns many moons ago. The arrival of brother Torello Disher cemented the deal and with the addition of Tate Overton they became a band, playing all the NYC institutions; CBGB's, the Don Hills, The Continental. As the clubs changed so did the band, but the anchor of Loam and Tate remained. Mike Crehore joined and with his monster guitar chops helped fully realize the classic American rock sound they had been cultivating. The band now includes trumpeter/percussionist Mark Altman and drummer Jim Mussen.

Harmonies, barn burning grooves and passionate ballads bring to mind favorite acts of the past while the city itself continuously inspires new and original heartfelt rock.  Rev the engine, take the top down and sing along to the unique sound that feels like an old friend.

    The Strangers

Recording artist and songwriter Paul Maged is excited to announce that his band, The Strangers, are making their debut appearance at the famous NYC rock venue, Arlene’s Grocery in prime time on Saturday, June 14th at 9pm. This show will feature songs from Maged’s upcoming rock LP release, “Diamonds & Demons”, produced by Multi-Platinum Producer Sean Gill. In the current Indie scene, Paul Maged’s music announces an exciting and uncompromising voice in Alternative Rock. His songs explore concepts, social issues and universal themes that are very passionate to Maged and relevant in today’s world, helping to create a unique vision through his music.

Maged studied at the Boston Conservatory and then attended the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York. He has appeared in several independent films including festival award winner, “Bobby G. Can’t Swim” and has performed stand-up comedy throughout the Tri-state area. Maged quickly found his niche in songwriting, which he had explored off and on since childhood. After his father passed away unexpectedly, he began writing the songs that would make up his first record, “In My Time”, a pop/rock album with a raw, garage band feel. One of the songs recorded for the album, “Falling Down”, would appear multiple times on MTV’s long running show “Think Again Sex Myths Revealed”.

In 2011, Maged began a labor of love, writing the music and lyrics to his follow up album, Diamonds & Demons. Musically inspired by the sounds of the current Indie scene as well as Maged’s own musical influences such as Pearl Jam, Green Day, Billy Joel, Elvis Costello and a plethora of classic rock, the songs flow with great energy and diversity. Lyrically the songs are purposeful; an intense exploration of today’s modern day society and Maged’s own struggles and questions within it, creating a conceptual feel that builds throughout the album. The vocals are delivered with urgency and edge, breathing story and life into every song.

The Strangers, a group of accomplished and ultra-talented musicians, are quickly becoming an integral part of the live music scene in New York City. They consist of Joan Chew on Bass Guitar/Vocals, Ari Friedman on Lead Guitar/Vocals, Shawn Crowder on Drums and Maged on Lead Vocals/Songwriter. They are playing Maged’s new music as well as songs from his first album. The new music includes the first single to be released off the album entitled, “Look At Me”, which boasts a sarcastic and unapologetic view of modern day elitism in today’s society.

Paul Maged has taken the common definition of a Singer-Songwriter and blown it away, creating a rock band sound in the form of an Alternative Rock Singer-Songwriter.
