Two Seconds To Midnight:
New York City, 2008.
A string player from California.
A singer-songwriter from Scotland.
A drummer/producer from Detroit.
Two Seconds To Midnight is born.
Blending brooding strings, intricate rhythms and the brutally honest lyrics of Scottish front man Zig Payton that effortlessly morph from hear-a-pin-drop intimacy to soaring through-the-roof-and-beyond codas, comparisons have been drawn to the likes of Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Mogwai and The Frames but even the band themselves admit to not really planning where the music can go next, leaving a vast frontier in front of them. That’s the way they like it.

A stroke of luck hit when HBO caught wind of the song ‘Opt1m1sm’ from their debut album and used it in the worldwide promo campaign for the second season of Boardwalk Empire.

Since then they have been working on their much anticipated follow up with legendary drummer/producer Joey Waronker (Beck, Atoms For Peace, REM) in the co-production and mixing seat. This is to be the release show for the results, the self-titled 'Two Seconds To Midnight'.

The Mercury Pills: Dir Sir’s and Madams – It has often been said that the ills of man can be cured by a strict adherence to virtues of purity, hard work and abstinence from worldly pleasures. This of course comes easily for those who possess a strong will and constitution. Many however fail to adhere to such promise and are thus struck down with sickness. There are of course nowadays many cures being sold to the populace for maladies of all sorts. Some have even been known to work in moderation; quinine, castor oil, mustard plasters etc. It must of course be noted that many so called remedies do little to heal the infirmed or aid in those prone to idleness. These “cure all’s” or tonics that are now so fervently consumed by the populace are being sold by con men who are reaping small fortunes off the ignorant. Often these hucksters will state that their goods promise to excite in a moderate degree, the energies of all parts of the body without causing any deviation of healthy functions. Beware, for these are words that are swallowed only by fools. Pay no heed to their false proclamations! There is only one true cure for all mankind. Behold…The Mercury Pills

  • The Morning Code

    The Morning Code

Inspired by modern rock innovators – such as Muse and The Silversun Pickups and 90s rock pioneers – such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead – The Morning Code features a constantly evolving sound that centers on emotive melodies, deep textures and layered arrangements. Because the band’s sonic equation is as complex as their influences are diverse (with equal amounts of Chris Martin and Trent Reznor factoring in), when pushed to identify an overarching genre to describe their music, singer/songwriter Ashwin Alexander simply offered, “delicious.”

  • You Bred Raptors?

    You Bred Raptors?

Born somewhere between the Neolithic Era and the Industrial Revolution, this band of merry gentleman minstrel through the NYC subways with the Music Under New York Program. They also dropkick Woolly Mammoths and go bearbaiting with Polar Bears onefisted.

The trio comprised of Epileptic Peat on 8-String bass, Zach Schmidlein on drums and Bryan Wilson on cello aims to raise awareness about Dinosaur cloning research. New album "Hammond" came out in February 2012. Thanks for the support and hold on to your butt.

  • Twin Berlin

    Twin Berlin

In an age of electro-pop, over-produced, indie rock, Twin Berlin rebels against the passing fad to bring the revival of no-frills, in-your-face rock and roll. And 2011 is about to be their year. In 2009, Twin Berlin was recognized by MTV, being nominated as the Best Breakout Boston band and playing a show on the 2009 VMA tour alongside All Time Low and The White Tie Affair. Consequently, Twin Berlin was launched into Comcast’s “On Demand” air time, and into rotation on Boston’s biggest indie/alternative radio station, WFNX. Just two months later, Twin Berlin conquered the Big Apple, as well, for the CMJ Music Marathon. By 2010, Twin Berlin had broken out against the conventional indie-dance circuit, earning a reputation for a rabid, powerful live show. Garnering attention from the local press, Boston Music Spotlight named Twin Berlin as one of the eleven bands to watch for in 2011. They couldn’t have been any closer to the truth. While recording new material in the studio this year, Mikey Welsh, formerly of the band Weezer, stepped in to create the cover art. When asked about the band in an interview, Welsh responded, “they’re young, they’re good-looking...they craft really good songs.” But, before the recordings could even be finished, Travis Barker of Blink-182 became involved and selected Twin Berlin as the winner of Guitar Center’s “Your Next Record”, inviting them to record with him in Los Angeles, and even offering to play along on their new single. To say the very least, Twin Berlin is the band to notice in 2011. Don’t miss out on the next great thing that’s about to happen to rock and roll.
