Off the Turnpike: Since 2011, Off The Turnpike has made it their mission to wake up New York’s long dormant rock scene with a powerful and diverse sound all their own. The band's hard rock roots are tempered with an emphasis on melody, grooves and the unexpected. From Andy Sexton’s soulful and commanding vocals, to Christian Vasquez’s driving guitars and the beastly rhythm section of bassist Shawn Abraham and drummer Steve Kurlat, Off The Turnpike is here to confound expectations and electrify fans of raw, honest, and uncompromising music. Drawing inspiration from music of all genres and fusing it into a cohesive and powerful mix, Off The Turnpike is blazing forward in surprising new directions. With the release of their self produced self-titled debut album, the band is pushing their music beyond New York and bring the news of rock’s revival to the hungry masses. You’re not ready. But they are.
POC: Poc is an edgy rock singer hailing from Mexico with an amazing voice and a unique story to tell. Her tale begins as a young ballet dancer in Mexico City on the morning of her audition into professional dance school. On her way to the performance she had an accident and broke her ankle in a literal twist of fate. This moment served as an epiphany and shifted her passion to what inspired her to dance in the first place - music. Poc started focusing on singing, writing songs, as well as playing piano and guitar in her late teenage years. As time went on she started recording demos and performing at venues around Mexico City, which would open up numerous doors in the entertainment world, including a recurring acting role on the TV show "Roomies." With musical inspirations from the likes of Janis Joplin, ACDC and Lenny Kravitz, Poc, who is now in her early 20's, can finally say that her career is taking off. She has teamed up with Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal and opened for the legendary rock band on their Mexico tour dates. The two would lock themselves in the studio for months to record Poc's debut album, Rise Above. “An album made from chasing dreams and overcoming obstacles,” this is what the singer wants people to hear and feel when listening. Poc's first single, arena-rock inspired Rock N Roll Baby was released in February 2012, followed by her full album Rise Above in May 2012. Songs on Rise Above were co-written and produced by Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal and feature Guns N' Roses bandmate Frank Ferrer on drums. The album features nine songs in Spanish and three in English.

  • Dead Rocking Horse

    Dead Rocking Horse

Dead Rocking Horse is a New York City-based blues & hard rock outfit, comprised of Marron Chaplin (vox/guitar), David Alva (bass), Jaster A. Leon (guitar), Julio Arias (drums), and Jacqueline Stevens (violin). Actively steering clear of todays popular trends in music, Dead Rocking Horse is heavily influenced by the classics. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Aerosmith and Deep Purple, DRH taps into the main vein and feeds on the the lifeblood of rock’n’roll: the blues. Tightening their sound through hundreds of hours of rehearsal, every detail of their often unique song structures sounds polished, yet the music manages to remain honest, it still feels raw. This is rock’n’roll at its purest. This isn't a garage band regurgitating riffs from legendary bands of yore. Dead Rocking Horse’s music maintains a peculiar originiality, conceived in the gut, birthed through the mind. It grooves heavy, it’s strangely beautiful, and its deliciously dark and dirty. It’s just plain good blues infused rock & roll.

  • Charetta

    Charetta

CHARETTA is a female-fronted modern rock band based out of New York City. Formed in 2007, the band’s sound has hard rock elements similar to artists such as Breaking Benjamin and RED, while layering angst-filled, yet melodic, female vocals. One fan accurately summarized Charetta’s sound by stating, “it sounds like Alanis Morissette punching Chevelle in the face.” In July of 2011, CHARETTA released their latest EP “A Nation Distracted,” which was recorded at Vudu Studios and produced by Mike Watts (Story of the Year, Theory of a Deadman) and Steven Haigler (Fuel, Brand New). “Great grooves, monster riffs, and killer vocals,” says Watts. The EP release show was the bands most memorable to date, as they performed for a SOLD OUT crowd at New York City’s legendary Irving Plaza. After an active touring schedule in 2012, the band is currently focused on writing material for a new release tentatively scheduled for early 2013. CHARETTA (pronounced “sha-RET-uh”) consists of Angelina DelCarmen (vocals), Pablo LaFrossia (guitar), Chris Fullam (guitar), Richard Mollo (bass), and Adonis Sanchez (drums). The band started in 2007 when Pablo and Adonis who were long-time friends, wanted to start a new modern rock project with an amazing vocalist. Through a MySpace posting, they found Angelina. “She sang on our demos and just blew us away. One audition was all we needed to hear,” says Adonis. It was at that time the project was named, but the band prefers to keep the meaning of CHARETTA a mystery. Only their most dedicated fans know the secret. Several months and many auditions later, the band added Richard as their permanent bassist, and the band’s foundation was born. In July 2009, the band released their debut album “Defying the Inevitable” which was produced by Brett Hestla (Creed, Dark New Day). In late 2010, before going into the studio to record “A Nation Distracted,” the band added Chris as their second guitarist. “Chris and I have similar styles. We are both heavily influenced by Mark Tremonti (Creed, Alter Bridge), so it was a very natural fit,” shares Pablo. Since then, CHARETTA has made countless appearances (opening for national acts such as Eye Empire, Taproot, Exist Trace, Saliva & Smile Empty Soul), has released two music videos, and had their music featured in the independent film release “5th of a Degree,” as well as the television program “The Mun2 Look” on Mun2. The band has performed over 150 live performances to date.
