Rebecca Haviland and Chris Anderson met in 2003 after a show at The Red Lion in NYC. Both had graduated from Purchase Conservatory but had never met up until now. In need of a new bass player, Chris Anderson instantly filled the spot, creating a musical bond that would grow over the next 9 years and help to form the material for Rebecca’s 3rd studio album. Chris Anderson has been playing bass Professionally since his early teens. He is a graduate of both the Hartt School of music and the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase. As both an electric and upright bassist he has worked for a wide breadth of songwriters. His playing can be found on numerous television and radio broadcasts as well as dozens of recording sessions resulting in over thirty album credits spanning jazz and popular music. Chris has opened for Roberta Flack and Jonatha Brooke, and has played/recorded with Ingrid Michaelson, Mark Mulcahy, Evan Watson, Ian Axel, Abby Payne and Will Knox. Rebecca Haviland has made music her life. Growing up with a family of musicians, her grandmother began teaching her to sing and play piano at the age of 4. After graduating from Purchase Conservatory in 2003, Rebecca released her 1st studio album entitled, “Taking Advice From Strangers,” recorded at Acme Studios in Mamaroneck, NY and produced by Peter Denenberg (Spin Doctors) Joe Bonadio (Marc Cohn, Martin Sexton). She can also be found as a backing vocalist on over 25 different recordings, and as a musician/vocalist with Evan Watson, The Greg Mayo Band, Hurrah! A Bolt Of Light, and Laura Warshauer. In early 2011, with a desire to pursue their own project, Rebecca and Chris began writing the songs that would form her 3rd studio album. Yet to be titled, the record is a collection of songs written in the stylings of Ryan Adams and Ray LaMontagne, self produced by Rebecca and Chris and recorded full band, live in the studio with Todd Caldwell on Hammond B3 (Crosby Stills & Nash), Rich Hinman on pedal steel and electric guitar (Rosanne Cash, Ben Kweller), and Kenny Shaw on drums (Abby Payne, Hurrah!
